My now 15 month old dachshund needs obedience training, I realised that as soon as I got her in the house when she was 11 weeks old. So we started out with a puppy training course and then a junior training course. Now we're at the third level of training courses, and we're starting to see some results of our training. Training a dachshund is not the easiest task to do, they seem to have their own opinion on what to do or not to do!
This week I took a camera with me to the training, so now you all can see how far we've come. She did really well this week, not perfect - we still need to practice more. First excercise to watch is the Heel. This is a challenge for a dachshund owner, not only because the dog usually go where the nose says it's interesting, but because of the size of the dog! It's very exhausting to walk the dog and at the same time holding the treat right in front of the nose! Luckely I have no video of this stage of the training
but I still need the treats to keep her motivated!
More on how to train a dachshund later - stay tuned!
